A great weekend, which included the Miller cousins’ reunion, is almost over.

It included a delightful visit from Cousin Don and his bride Jeanette, who were our house guests; dinner at Mo Brady’s in Davenport Friday night; a day of fun and fellowship with my brother and sister-in-law, cousins and others on Saturday at the family reunion in Rock Island; and a farewell brunch at Moon River today in Andalusia.

Ironically, as for the reunion of Miller cousins, there was no one there with the Miller name because we family members are descended from some of the Miller sisters who hailed from Old Monroe, then Hannibal, Missouri, married and took their husband’s names.

Except for one Miller sister, who married late, did not have children and is in her 90s and was unable to attend the reunion, the Miller sisters and their brother are deceased.

But their offspring live on and celebrated their lives on Saturday.

Now it’s back to our usual routines. But the memories will linger until we do it again – maybe next year!
